Dr. Shanker Mukherjee

Shanker Mukherjee, MD earned his undergraduate degree from Bihar National College in Kabirpur Bhagalpur, Bihar, India, and received his medical degree from Patna Medical College located in Patna, India.  He then completed his internship at Woodhull Hospital-Downstate Medical Center, followed by his internal medicine residency from Downstate Medical Center-Kings County Hospital, both in Brooklyn, N.Y.  Dr. Mukherjee completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Harlem Hospital Center located in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Mukherjee opened his practice, Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center in 1989 and is President and CEO of Twin Rivers Endoscopy Center in Easton, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mukherjee is an attending physician at Easton Hospital, St. Luke’s Warren Hospital and St. Luke’s Anderson Campus.

Dr. Barry Herman

Barry Herman, MD, FACP, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from Hahnemann University-School of Medicine.  While at Hahnemann University, Dr. Herman was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical School Honors Society.  Dr. Herman served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy for over a decade.  He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia and then completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

  • Dr. Herman has been an attending gastroenterologist at Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center since 1995. He is also an attending physician at Easton Hospital, St. Luke’s Warren Hospital and St. Luke’s Anderson Campus.

  • Dr. Herman enjoys teaching students of DeSales University’s Physician Assistant Program and students of Drexel University’s College of Medicine.  Dr. Herman also participates in various community education programs, namely “Senior Circle”.

Dr. Amit Sohagia

Amit B. Sohagia, MD earned his medical degree from B.J. Medical College in Ahmadabad, India.  He then completed his internship in Internal Medicine at New Civil Hospital, Ahmadabad and M.P. Shah Hospital, Jamnagar, India.  His residency was done in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center-North Division.  Dr. Sohagia then continued on at Montefiore Medical Center-North Division to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

  • Dr. Sohagia joined Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center in 2011. He is an attending physician at Easton Hospital, St. Luke’s Warren Hospital, St. Luke’s Anderson Campus and Bethlehem Campus.

Dr. Stephen L. Willis

Stephen L. Willis, MD graduated with Honors from Rutgers University, and attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in new Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Vermont in Burlington. Subsequently, he joined the faculty of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, where he served as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology for 7 years. After returning to New Jersey, he spent the next 6 years as Lead Physician for Advanced Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey, before joining Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center in 2016.

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Manoj K. Mittal

Manoj Mittal, MD has been in the practice in the field of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases in the area since 1994. Dr. Mittal completed Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases at Yale UniversityMedical School in New Haven Connecticut. Before that, Dr. Mittal completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital in New York City. Dr. Mittal received his medical college training and completed his residency in surgery at Medical College Amritsar, India. Dr. Mittal joined Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center in October 2017.

Megan Leininger, PA-C earned her undergraduate degree at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania and then continued on at DeSales to earn her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Nadya Poretta, CRNP

Nadya grew up in the area and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She worked as a nurse for many years and then attended DeSales University and graduated with MSN.

  • Nadya Poretta, CRNP joined Twin Rivers Gastroenterology Center in 2017 and is an active Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner at Easton Hospital, St. Luke’s Warren Hospital & St. Luke’s Anderson Campus.

  • Nadya is an extremely caring and compassionate person who goes to all possible limits to take care of her patients, their families and provide them comfort, answer questions, educate them about any GI ailments and any special diets or life style adjustments. She believes that empowering patients to be active participants in their own healthcare through education and a strong patient provider relationship can help them achieve their goals. Nadya focuses on disease prevention and emphasizes lifestyle modifications to enhance overall quality of life.
